Morgan’s is inspired to be able to offer Guided Therapy Forest hikes by @NatureYourWay. Forest Therapy or shinrin yoku, is the simple practice of taking in nature through the senses for health benefits.
Hiking with our ANFT Certified Forest Therapy Guide can create a unique experience with immense benefits: boosted immunity, lowered blood pressure and heart rate, improved attention and mood, and hitting the reset button on life.
A Forest Therapy Guide facilitates safe gentle hikes, providing “invitations” for sensory opening activities along the way. Each hike begins with establishing embodied contact with the present moment and place. Next come a series of connective invitations, often improvised in the moment and adapted to the needs of participants. These may be followed by wander time and/or sit spot. The hike ends with a ceremony of sharing tea made from foraged local plants.
An entire hike is typically 2 to 3 hours in duration and often covers no more than a quarter mile to a mile. In that short distance most people experience contact with nature in a much deeper way than they ever have prior to the hike.
A Note from our Guide:
As a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, I draw on the latest medical research, new developments in the field of nature connection, and ancient traditions of mindfulness and wellness promotion. Every guided walk is an act of power and beauty, cultivating deep connections with transformational impacts on people and nature. I use a clearly defined sequence of guided events that provides structure to the experience while embracing the many opportunities for creativity and serendipity offered by the forest. As an experienced guide, I also incorporate individual inspiration customized to the needs of each group.
Take time out from the busyness of life to relax and unwind in a deep, meaningful way.
