First time boaters!

Morgan's on the Whitewater River is great for first-timers. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable before starting their adventure. On the day of your river trip you will receive a safety briefing and instructional talk from our staff and they will be around for any additional questions before you start to paddle. Below are some awesome helpful tips.

Helpful tips

  • Its HOT. Protect from the sun. Proper clothes, hat, sunglasses & lots of sunscreen!

  • Bring extra water and don't forget the snacks. Leave the alcohol at home.

  • This is a physical activity. Its not for everyone. Be prepared

  • Have shoes that wont fall off and you are okay with getting wet

  • Come early in the day. It will give the most time and wont have to worry about the cut off time.

FAQ

Do you take walk ins?

Absolutely! We love walk ins. Be mindful on business weekends we may sell out of boats and so we always encourage making a reservation

How long is the trip?

Our 3.5 mile tube float takes between 2-4 hours and our 7 mile kayak, canoe and raft trip takes on average 3-5 hours. All this depends on water level and amount of paddling. There is no time requirement just need to be back by our cut off time. 5pm weekdays, 6pm weekends. (There are late fees, please don't be late)

Do you allow dogs?

Yes, we are a dog friendly. Dogs are only allowed on kayaks or canoes. They are not allowed on rafts or tubes.  All dogs must remain on leash and be accompanied.

Can I check in late?

No, we ask that you arrive within an hour of your time of reservation. Otherwise we can't guarantee a boat. Please call if you know you are going to late.

What time should I arrive?

The time on your reservation is your departure time. If you have a reservation and your waiver filled out I recommend arriving about 15min ahead. Walk ins 30min ahead of time. The busses for the tube float try to leave promptly at the departure times 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm.

What is the river conditions like?

The river changes throughout the summer. Spring, early summer the river tends to be higher and as the summer progresses it goes down. We are a class 1 river with a calm current and small, fun, occasional rapid patches followed by calm tree lined beauty. We update our facebook page (add link) with weather and open/close status so please check there for updates.

Do you allow people to bring their own boats or tubes?

We do. We will transport you and your boat or tube. Make a transport reservation. For tubes you can unload and we will load with you onto our bus. For kayaks and canoes, you will be required to drive your boat down to our launching beach, unload and then we will transport you and your boat back up to your car when done.

Once I arrive then what?

Please park in the designated parking (see map) there are signs to direct once there. After you park unload yourselves, your snacks and coolers. If you have a reservation and filled out waiver (we highly recommend) you will stop by our welcome tent to check in. After that you will get your lifejacket and paddle, then head to your safety brief. Lastly head down the steps to the beach and hop in your boat.

Where do you park?

Only in designated spots. Please see the campground map to find your appropriate parking areas. Map here
